In late 1996 my husband and I moved home to Natchez, Mississippi. Knowing that I love horses, my husband asked me if I would like to get a couple to ride. A friend of mine called and said she had located an Arabian mare, Helena del Mar. I fell in love with her eyes from a photo and bought her shortly thereafter.
She was Spanish Arabian. I called the Registry to get more information on the Spanish bloodlines, and they gave me the names of several Spanish breeders to contact. Betty Schumacher in California graciously sent me lots of information to read. At that point I realized what a treasure we had found in our mare.
Over the years we purchased more Spanish Arabians and made a good friend of Betty. Eventually, we purchased our own stallion, El Comienzo. A barn, pond, and many pastures later, we have our farm and are living our dream - to own and breed Arabian horses. We have a number of horses for sale on the Spanish Arabian Horse Society website. We love visitors and welcome them anytime.
